🚨 RRB JE 2024 CBT 2 Cutoff Announced – Document Verification & Medical Exam Details

If you appeared in the RRB JE 2024 CBT 2 Exam conducted on 22nd April 2025, this is an important update for you. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially released the cutoff scores and the list of shortlisted candidates for the next stagesDocument Verification (DV) and Medical Examination (ME). This article covers everything you need to know in a clear, simplified, and easy-to-understand format.

📝 What Is the Update?

The Railway Recruitment Board conducted the Stage 2 Computer-Based Test (CBT 2) on 22 April 2025 for the posts of:

  • Junior Engineer (JE)
  • Depot Material Superintendent (DMS)
  • And other technical roles under Centralized Employment Notification (CEN) No. 03/2024

Based on performance in this CBT, the roll numbers of provisionally shortlisted candidates have been published. These candidates will now proceed to the next rounds:

  • Document Verification (DV)
  • Medical Examination (ME)

How Was the Shortlisting Done?

RRB followed a transparent and structured process to shortlist candidates:

1. Cutoff-Based Screening

The cutoff marks were calculated community-wise (General, OBC, SC, ST, etc.) and post-wise (JE, DMS, etc.). Candidates who scored equal to or more than their category’s qualifying marks were considered.

2. Post Preferences Considered

While submitting the application, candidates filled in their preferred posts. RRB has used these preferences during shortlisting, provided the candidate met the eligibility for those posts.

3. Merit Index Calculation

A Merit Index Score (out of 100) was generated for each candidate. The score was scaled for fairness in single-session CBT 2 exams. The formula used for this is detailed in Para 14.2 of CEN 03/2024.

4. Equal to Vacancy Ratio

The number of candidates selected for DV is equal to the number of available vacancies, as per RRB websites. Only eligible candidates are selected within this limit.

📌 What’s Next? Document Verification (DV)

🗓️ DV Schedule

  • DV will be conducted at venues mentioned in your e-call letter.
  • The date, time (FN/AN sessions), and full address will be available on RRB websites.
  • You will receive an SMS and email when your e-call letter is ready to download.

📑 Documents Required

You must carry:

  • All original documents as per CEN instructions.
  • Two sets of self-attested photocopies (A4 size) of each document.
  • Proper arrangement of documents will save you time during verification.

🩺 What About the Medical Examination (ME)?

📍 Location & Timing

  • Medical tests will be held at nominated Railway hospitals within RRB jurisdiction.
  • These will be conducted the day after your DV.
  • Be prepared to stay for 2 to 4 days depending on the process.

🩹 Health Requirements

Medical fitness is mandatory. Tests may include:

  • Eye test
  • Physical fitness check
  • Blood and urine tests (varies by post)

Failing the medical exam may disqualify you from final selection, even if you cleared CBT and DV.

⚠️ Special Note: Merged Category Preferences

Some posts were merged into common categories. If you’re shortlisted for such posts:

  • You must submit your option form before DV.
  • The option form link will be available in the DV schedule notification.
  • If you don’t choose, RRB will assign a post based on availability and your merit rank.

Along with the list of shortlisted candidates, RRB has also released:

  • Cutoff Merit Index Scores by category and post
  • A breakdown of scores from 1st and 2nd stage CBT
